Sustainability Summit

Did you know that every year 400 million tonnes of plastic is produced? And every year over 8 million tonnes of plastic ends up in our oceans?!

Over the next five weeks, the De Mazenod Family Education Network – Go Green Student Voice Sustainability Drive will be focused on the College’s current sustainable initiatives and what the College, staff, students and the community can do to improve our practices for the future.

Week 1  - Monday, 18 August

This coming week, we will be looking at reducing waste through the Avoid / Reduce / Re-Use / Recycle. The simplest way to reduce the plastic in our lives is to reduce the plastic being bought and used.  Easy habits such as using a reusable drink bottle during the day and avoiding buying plastic bottles, bringing your recess and lunch in reusable containers and avoiding the cling wrap/plastic food bags.
