JUNIOR School Update

Year 7 Update
It has been great to see our Year 7 students settling into the routines of high school, finding their way around the 7-10 Campus and slowly mastering the complex art of unlocking a combination lock!
It has been a busy start to the term with events such as school photos, our Swimming Carnival, the start of Semper Squad, lunchtime clubs and Chicago auditions, and we have loved seeing our newest students immerse themselves in the many opportunities that Frankston High School has to offer.
We are so pleased to be able to run the Year 7 camps as a key part of the Year 7 Orientation Program. They provide a great opportunity for students to get to know each other, build relationships with their teachers and to take on challenges as part of the engaging program of activities. We held two fantastic Year 7 Camps at Lord Somers in Somers. Our Year 9 LEAD students ran activities for our Year 7 students on the first day of Camp 1 and were enthusiastic role models to our youngest students.
All Year 7 students will participate in NAPLAN testing from Wednesday 12 until Monday 17 March. All students are expected to attend and give it their best effort.

Year 8 Update
The past few weeks have been full of energy and achievement for our Year 8 students. Hundreds of house points have been awarded to those who consistently embody our school values of respect, responsibility, resilience, and empathy—a testament to the positive culture we continue to build together, and one which reflects our school pillars of excellence, community and aspiration.
Last Friday’s Proactivity Day was a fantastic success, with all Year 8 students participating in a range of activities designed to promote teamwork, leadership, confidence, and communication. It was great to see students step up to challenges, work collaboratively, and support one another throughout the day. A huge thank you to Mrs Jess Knights for all her work in preparation for this day and to our Year 8 team and teachers for their support as well.
We also had a wonderful turnout at our school swimming sports day, with so many Year 8 students getting involved, showing their house spirit, and giving their best effort in and out of the pool.
Looking ahead, we have some exciting events coming up, including Year 8 History incursions, which will provide valuable hands-on learning experiences. A reminder that applications for the Rubicon camp close soon. This outdoor education camp empowers our young people to develop key life skills, fostering personal growth, teamwork, and a deeper connection with the environment.
We continue to see fantastic growth in our Year 8 cohort, with many students rising to the challenge of our high expectations. With parent-student-teacher conferences approaching, we look forward to engaging with our parent community to celebrate student achievements and discuss opportunities for further growth.
Thank you for your ongoing support in making Year 8 a rewarding and successful experience for all.
