Library Activities
Craft Club/Makerspace Wednesday lunchtime
We started our Makerspace at the end of last year and interest has been growing steadily. We offer a range of activities including lego, jewelry making, crochet, macrame, and origami. Students are also welcome to bring their own craft activity from home to work on. New students are always welcome – come early to secure your spot.
Academic Catch-up Club
Academic Catch-up Club (ACC) is open to all students in Year 7-10 seeking academic support. It is aimed at helping students to achieve their full potential and is designed to aid students who need further assistance with their Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) or other essential coursework. Students may voluntarily choose to attend ACC or may be ‘assigned’ to attend through their classroom teacher.

Frequent Borrower Cards
We have decided to continue our Frequent Borrower Cards in 2025 to reward our dedicated readers. It has been very encouraging to see so many students embracing our library collection this year. Like a coffee card, students are rewarded for the number of times they borrow.
Overdue books
Just a reminderthat Library loans are for four (4) weeks after which students must renew or return their book. Students receive automated emails from our library system two (2) days before, then Day 3 and 14 on becoming overdue and regularly after that.
When books are overdue for long periods of time (months) we start emailing parents directly via Compass. We do not charge overdue fines, however long overdue books will incur a replacement fee if not returned. Parents/carers will receive two warnings and an invoice notification before any charges are added to their school account.
Bookwise
Our Years 7 and 8 English ‘Bookwise’ reading circles are now in full swing. The program has been designed to create a supportive environment where students work together to foster a love of reading, whilst at the same time developing essential literacy skills. Thank you to our generous donors for assisting us to build this collection for students. Special thanks to donors Felix and Oscar, who we missed in the last newsletter.
