Performing Arts

Music ensemble and Middle Years Production rehearsal routines have now been set and students are showing great focus and commitment. The Junior School have acknowledged Year 6 Music Ensemble Leaders, and they are showing much initiative in carrying out their duties.

Seraphim Choir performed at a recent Junior School Chapel, where they taught a new action song called Hero of the Faith and performed Sing Sing Allelujah. Charisma G (6B) featured as a Performer of the Week, singing a song beautifully as she also played the piano.

The Junior Vocal Ensemble excelled at the March School at Work event. Their rendition of Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho sparkled as the engaged with their faces and voices.

Arrangements are also being made for an exciting Senior Music Camp, which takes place in Week 3 of Term 2.

It has been exciting to see our Year 6 students rehearsing in their small groups for the Alice in Wonderland JR auditions, taking place in Week 3 of Term 2. They are certainly very keen!

It was great to witness the response of parents to their Year 2 children participating with enthusiasm in the Open Lesson this week. Our Year 2s are working hard and are loving making music on their instruments. We look forward to monitoring their progress throughout the year.

Open Day is now a focus for all ensembles, and they are rehearsing in earnest for performances at the two concerts and around the campus in various venues.

Keep in your diary the ANZAC Dawn Service in Week 1 of Term 2, where the Senior Vocal Ensemble will feature, as well as Daniel B (12.7) on trumpet.

As we come to the end of a wonderful term, the Performing Arts faculty would like to wish all our families a blessed easter and a relaxing holiday.
