From the Principal

Congratulations to our students, staff, and broader school community on an outstanding Term 1. There were so many memorable moments throughout the term that contributed to our students’ learning journey. Thank you to the Oxley community for your dedication and support throughout the term. We also thank God for His love and protection. I pray the upcoming school holidays provide all of us with an opportunity to rest and reflect.
We look forward to students returning to school on Tuesday 22 April in preparation for another term of rigorous learning and exciting co-curricular activities. Term 2 commences with two special events – our Dawn Service commemorating the ANZACs on Thursday 24 April, and our Open Day on Saturday 3 May. These events provide us with a chance to strengthen our connections with one another.
As we approach the Easter period, we can reflect on the miracle of the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus rising from the dead after being crucified on the cross and buried in the tomb serves as the most significant reminder of our Heavenly Father’s endless love for us and the connection He wants with each of us.
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.
He was put to death in the body
but made alive in the Spirit.
1 Peter 3:18
In our theme verse John 15:5, we read about how Jesus explained the connection He wants to have with us. At the end of His ministry, Jesus shared with His disciples, “I am the vine; you are the branches.” This imagery reminds us that our connection with Jesus is essential for our spiritual growth and supports us to flourish in everything that we do.
As we reflect on Easter, let us remember the deep connection we can have with Jesus. Through His resurrection, Jesus invites us to remain in Him, to abide in Him. A by-product of abiding in Jesus are the virtues (or fruits) of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives:
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
There is no law against these things!
Galatians 5:22-23
We pray that the Holy Spirit can produce Christlike character in us.
We are deeply saddened by the devastating earthquake in Myanmar and are holding the families affected by this event in our thoughts and prayers. We are praying for the Burmese community during this challenging time.
I pray our connection with Jesus will continue to impact all our relationships throughout the year.
Working together,
