Principals Message

It is hard to believe that we are already halfway through Term 3, 2026. Wow! As I reflect on the year so far, there is so much for which we can be grateful and so many wonderful milestones to celebrate across our school community. 

One particularly significant celebration this week was our Foundation students reaching 100 days of school. What a wonderful achievement! This milestone represents so much more than 100 days in the classroom. It signifies the incredible effort of our students, families and teachers in establishing strong foundations for learning and embracing the importance of a quality education. These early experiences, relationships and learning opportunities are helping to shape a lifelong journey of curiosity, growth and achievement. 

I am also incredibly proud of the continued commitment of our teachers and staff to ensuring that Literacy and Numeracy remain sacred parts of every school day. We know that strong foundations in these areas are fundamental to student success, and our staff work tirelessly to protect these important learning blocks from unnecessary interruptions. 

Even during times when staff members are unavailable, I have been incredibly impressed by the way our team members step up, support one another and ensure that every class continues to access these essential elements of their learning. This is a wonderful reflection of the dedication, professionalism and collaborative spirit that exists across our school. Our staff truly understand that every minute of learning matters, and I commend them for consistently ensuring that our students remain at the centre of every decision. 

MAGNIFY Sandhurst – Impact Assessment Roll-Out 

Another exciting initiative taking place across Catholic Education Sandhurst is the MAGNIFY Sandhurst Impact Assessment roll-out. 

We are pleased to be part of this significant work as the Impact Assessment platform is introduced across CESL schools during 2026–2027. A special thank you is extended to the group of 16 schools from across the Diocese, along with members of the Data Assessment and Reporting Working Group, who have been trialling and testing the Impact Assessment platform throughout Terms 2 and 3. Their feedback and insights continue to be invaluable in supporting the enhancement of the platform and the associated assessments. 

All CESL schools will be onboarded to and trial the Impact Assessment system in Term 4, 2026. School Leaders will undertake training on the platform in Week 8 of Term 3, in line with the Professional Learning Schedule, with teachers across our schools scheduled to receive training in Week 1 of Term 4. 

This is an exciting opportunity for us to further strengthen the way we understand, monitor and respond to student learning. The use of quality assessment information will support our teachers to make informed decisions about teaching and learning and, most importantly, ensure that we continue to respond effectively to the individual needs of every student. 

Further information about the Impact Assessment roll-out across CESL will be shared with school leaders in the coming days and weeks. We look forward to embracing this opportunity and continuing to build our collective capacity to support every learner. 

As we move beyond the halfway point of Term 3, I would like to thank our students, families and staff for the wonderful energy, commitment and care that continue to make our school such a special place. There is much to celebrate, and I look forward to all that the remainder of Term 3 will bring.
