Faith in Action: Learning, Growing and Living the Gospel

Term 3 has been a wonderful opportunity to see Religious Education and faith come alive across our College. From classroom learning and creative student projects to prayer, justice and staff formation, our focus continues to be on helping our young people understand that faith is not simply something we learn about, it is something we are called to live.

Across our RE classrooms, students have been exploring faith, justice and our responsibility to others in meaningful and creative ways. Our Year 9 students have been exploring the Catholics who helped shape the Australian Church, discovering the people, stories and events that have influenced our faith tradition. Students have particularly enjoyed researching churches within our own Sandhurst Diocese, making connections between the history they are learning about and the Catholic communities and places that surround us today.

Our Year 11 students have been exploring religion in Australia and learning about different religious traditions. As part of this learning, students have been using art to represent and communicate their understanding of the beliefs, symbols and practices of different faiths. These creative projects have provided an engaging way for students to develop greater knowledge, understanding and respect for the diverse religious traditions that form part of our Australian community.

Importantly, this learning extends beyond assessment tasks. Through prayer, liturgy, reflection and opportunities for student action, we continue to create spaces where students can encounter faith and consider how the example of Jesus might shape the choices they make.

Our staff have also continued their own faith and RE formation this term, coming together to learn, reflect and strengthen our shared understanding of Catholic education.

At the heart of all of this is a simple but important belief: faith is not something we add to school life; it is the reason for it.

Together, we continue the mission of Jesus through the way we teach, learn and care for one another.
