This video explains how families celebrate Chinese New Year with special meals, red decorations, dragon dances and red envelopes, welcoming the new year with joy and good wishes.

Our whole school has been celebrating Chinese New Year with great joy and excitement. We enjoyed a dress-up day and took part in a range of cultural activities, including making lucky envelopes, practising Chinese paper cutting, designing dragon masks, creating paper dragons, making Chinese Zodiac mini books, exploring scratch-art dragons and crafting Chinese lanterns. We also came together to sing and dance our New Year song, making this celebration even more special.

Wishing everyone in the Black Rock community a healthy, joyful and prosperous 2026!
