Welcome to our latest edition of St. Margaret’s e-Smart News. We hope you find the information in these articles to be of great use during the year!
2026 ICT User Agreements:-
The 2026 ICT User Agreements for all students was sent out via an electronic form link on School Stream. We encourage all parents and carers to read the agreements with their child/children before completing the online agreement form with their child/children.
As of today we have had 243 responses out of 460 which is just over half the student population.
Please ensure you have completed this online form with your child/children, no later than Friday 6th March 2026.

Code Camp:-
Due to ongoing construction works, there will be no Code Camp programs held at St. Margaret's until mid 2026. The school has not made this decision lightly - the health and safety of all staff, students and adults onsite is paramount. Once construction works have been completed the school will look to recommence our partnership with Code Camp.
e-Safety SOCIAL MEDIA AGE RESTRICTIONS:-
The campaign ‘For the good of their wellbeing’ raises awareness of the new Social Media Minimum Age law. The new law, which has been in effect since 10 December means you must be 16 years or older to have a social media account. Social media platforms will not allow Australians under the age of 16 to create or maintain an account.
This change is designed to protect young people from the risk of harm from social media and to support their wellbeing.

e-Safety Parent Resources and Webinars:-
Some fantastic e-Safety resources containing advice and tips can be found using this link. https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents It is highly recommended that parents look and explore the useful resources available from the eSafety Commissioner website.
Under the new Social Media Minimum Law, there are social media platforms which do not allow Australian children under 16 to create or have an account. Join one of eSafety's 30-minute information session to understand the changes. Learn more about this webinar.
