Vegan Experience

On Friday the 20th February, 9J went out to a vegan restaurant as a part of the special diet’s food tech unit, during this excursion the class when out to a restaurant in Fitzroy called “Veggie Bar” via public transport.
While at the restaurant we had 9 courses with a range of different dishes such as quinoa salad, spring rolls, roasted cauliflower, and pesto pasta with a lovely apple crumble for dessert.
The owner of the restaurant was very welcoming and let us get in early to try the dishes. The experience as a whole was enlightening and gave a lot of people insight into the intensity of the vegan diet, but most of all the experience forced many out of their comfort zone and widened their palette, making them try things they would have never tried on their own.
The trip there using public transport rather than a school bus like most excursions was a very fun and different experience that should also be noted.
The train and tram we had to take to get to the restaurant was very entertaining. Sitting and talking with my friends really added to the experience and I would love to get the chance to do this again.
