2024 Staff Changes

Staffing Changes In 2024

It is not only families who will be leaving our school but several staff who have had an extremely long association with Beaumaris North Primary School.

During the year we lost Mr Doug Bray and Mr Brent Plowright (Secondment to the Department of Education), Mr Nick Arnold to another system, Mrs Kate Boston (Maternity leave) and Mrs Jessica Patane.  We welcomed our new staff members in Mrs Anna Holmes and Ms Brooke Vincent, who worked in the Year 6 team and added value to every aspect of Year 6.

Staff Not Returning in 2024

Staff not returning in 2024 include Mrs Deb Ball.  Deb has most recently been our school librarian but prior to this filled a variety of classroom roles.  We hope that Deb will re-join our team in coming years in the role of Casual Relief Teacher.

Mrs Anna Holmes and Miss Brooke Vincent will not be returning in 2024.  Anna and Brooke were greatly respected as Year 6 teachers in 2024.  They both immersed themselves in the many activities and requirements of Year 6. No challenge was too great for Anna and Brooke, and we all hope that they can re-join our team in the future should the opportunity arise.

Goodbye to our Tree House Expert Mrs Jenny Vawdrey

Jenny
Jenny

After more than 20 years working at our school, initially as a Prep teacher and most recently our Tree House teacher, Mrs Jenny Vawdrey has decided there is a big wide world out there and it is time for her and Mal to harness up the new van on the back of their new car and begin exploring our country. Jen’s unique way of engaging children has seen many, many young minds learn to love literature.  Jen will be greatly missed by us all and we wish her the best of luck in her retirement and ongoing travels.  I am not sure who will play the ‘spoons’ at our next staff function Jen!

We will also be losing Mr Jesse Reed, who has accepted a management role in Geelong and of course the move takes him much closer to the surf in Torquay.   Jesse has done an amazing job in ensuring that our school always looks wonderful and is in line with the OH&S requirements.

Many new families to the school have commented on the excellent appearance of our school grounds, play equipment and our outside facilities. Jesse will also be greatly missed by the staff as he is always the ‘Go To’ person if you want something done.  Lee and Jesse have formed an incredible maintenance team and with one half of the duo departing, we are leaving it to Lee to find a suitable replacement.

Ms Jessica Madison has been on leave for the 2023 school year and has now tendered her resignation as she continues her role in Everyday Independence.

Mrs Sue Miles has also been on leave and has now retired.

We wish both Jess and Sue good luck as they embark on new directions.

Teachers returning next year will be Mrs Kate Morrison and Mrs Elli Robertson.  We look forward to the return of Kate and Elli as they have a multitude of skills to add to our current teaching teams.
