Senior School

Mackenna Maltman is a Year 11 student at Seymour College who has commenced a plumbing school-based apprenticeship with Smyth Plumbing who are based in Nagambie. Mackenna has completed his VET Plumbing this year, which has provided an introduction into the plumbing sector. To get a better understanding of the actual workplace, Mackenna arranged work placement with Smyth Plumbing working one day a week. This enabled Mackenna to get a true picture of the day to day functions and tasks required in the plumbing industry. It reinforced his wish to one day become a plumber. He discussed his wish of being employed as a school based apprentice which Ryan Smyth was more than happy to support.

Mackenna will now work two days a week and attend GO Tafe in Shepparton as part of his trade school.

Good luck Macca.
