Footy Day Fun

What a fantastic way to finish the term with our Footy Day celebrations on Friday 18 September, the last day of school! Students enjoyed a fun-filled day of games, activities and plenty of footy spirit. There were some pretty awesome dress-ups, with students getting creative and showing off their team colours.

A huge thank you to Ms Jamison for organising such a wonderful day and to our Year 6 students for doing an amazing job running the activities, and helping make the day such a success. It was fantastic to see our senior students take on leadership roles and all students getting involved, having fun and cheering each other on.

Footy Day was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of term, and a great time was had by all! 🏉

SES Visit

Zoe, a parent of Seymour College, and local SES volunteer, visited our F-2 students to speak about staying safe when playing with and around trees. She explained that although a tree may look safe and healthy on the outside, strong winds can cause internal damage, making it potentially dangerous and advised us to play in safe areas away from trees.

Zoe also explained what SES stands for and the important roles SES volunteers play in keeping our community safe. She shared that young people can begin volunteering with the SES from the age of 15.

She showed the students her pager and explained how community members can contact the SES when they need assistance. To finish the visit, Zoe kindly gave students a fridge magnet with important contact numbers and an activity pack to take home.

We are very lucky to have Zoe offer her time to share her experience and knowledge with us

Thanks Zoe!

Grade 5/6 – Welcome Back to Term 4!

Welcome back to Term 4! We hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break. We have a busy and exciting term ahead, with plenty of learning opportunities and special events, including our Colour Fun Run and swimming program.

Our Colour Fun Run is fast approaching! This exciting event will take place on Friday 30th October. Students are encouraged to wear a white T-shirt to help show off all the amazing colours throughout the event. We are looking forward to a fantastic afternoon filled with fun, laughter and colour!

In Writing, students have been exploring acrostic poems, using creativity and descriptive language to bring their chosen words to life. Students have been working hard on their poems, and we look forward to sharing a few wonderful examples of their work.

During Inquiry this term, Grade 5/6 students will also have the exciting opportunity to watch Luke, our College chef, prepare a meal. This will be a great hands-on learning experience, allowing students to learn more about food preparation, cooking and the skills involved in creating a delicious meal.

Term 4 is shaping up to be a fantastic term for our Grade 5/6 students. We look forward to finishing the year positively, embracing new challenges and celebrating all the wonderful achievements of our students!
