2025 Footy Tipping Competition

Round 20 had a couple of games that had people thinking about which way to go.  We had 5 people tip 9/9 and another 45 tip 8/9. Of those that tipped nine, Kody W (student) was only one point off the margin in Hawthorn’s win over Carlton and as such is this week’s winner of the $100. Congratulations Kody on your second win in four weeks!!

With regards to the overall leaderboard, we have our first outright leader since Round eight. Natasha Watts leads on 126 with four people on 125 and a further six people on 124 so still everything to play for with four rounds to go.

Round 21

Western Bulldogs v GWS - 9th v 6th

Since 2018 these sides have only met twice at Marvel Stadium with the Bulldogs winning both games.  Bulldogs must win, but struggle against good sides;

Adelaide v Hawthorn - 2nd v 5th

Hawthorn has won five of the last six games played between these sides at the Adelaide Oval, but Adelaide is in pretty good form right now and are pushing for top spot;

Melbourne v West Coast - 13th v 18th

This is only the second time in ten years these sides have met at the MCG.  Even though Melbourne threw away a record three quarter time lead against St Kilda they should still win this game easily;

Gold Coast v Richmond - 8th v 16th

Richmond might hope to be competitive, but I can’t see them winning;

Sydney v Essendon - 10th v 15th

Essendon has a terrible record at the SCG, in the unlikely event that you were thinking of picking them;

Collingwood v Brisbane - 1st v 3rd

Brisbane has lost its last two games against Collingwood at the MCG by a total of five points.  Despite a poor loss on the weekend, you would expect Brisbane to be super competitive;

St Kilda v North Melbourne - 14th v 17th

St Kilda has won the last five games between these sides at Marvel Stadium and North look like a side that wants the season to end;

Geelong v Port Adelaide - 4th v 11th

Port won the last clash between these sides down in Geelong.  It would take a brave person to tip them to do it again; and

Fremantle v Carlton - 7th v 12th

Carlton actually has a pretty good record against Fremantle at Optus Stadium having won three of the last four clashes.  But as with the previous game, I can’t see that statistic swaying too many people.
