Catholic Schools Performing Arts Festival

It has been a busy start to the term in Performing Arts with the commencement of the Catholic Schools Performing Arts Festival. The festival runs for seven weeks with students from all over the state taking part in many performances around the metropolitan area. 

The Performing Arts Festival is a festival rather than a competition and while there are shield winners in the different sections it is more about giving students from around the state the opportunity to perform and to get feedback from adjudicators. Some of our boys are in several ensembles and bands as well as performing solos. All these performances are valuable for our musicians.

This week the Flute Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and Guitar Ensemble have all performed and done us proud.

Over the next two weeks, our vocal soloists, Latin Ensemble, Jazz Band, Senior and Junior Jazz Combos and a violin soloist will all perform in different venues around Perth. 

The culmination of the festival for us is the Best of the Fest.

Held on  Friday 5 September in Oblate Hall, as the name suggests, this is a concert featuring groups and solos from the festival.

Seating at tables of 10 will be available through Trybooking and we will advise soon when they will go on sale.
