Whatâs Happening in Careers?
Year 10Â
The Year 10s have completed their subject selections after a huge Term 2. We are working through these now and the timetable should soon be in place.
Â
This week in MyPath, students completed a Pathway Plan (and Plan B) outlining possible opportunities and pivots they may need in Year 11 and 12. For the remainder of the term, we will focus on developing a portfolio in preparation for future work.
Year 11
UniReady
Students have an information session Week 4 in their extended form and there is a Parent Information Night on Tuesday 2 September (Week 7).
Â
This program is suitable for students who have intentions to go to university and are seeking an alternative pathway to ATAR. They need to have demonstrated that they have a good work ethic and sound English competency (a C grade in ATAR English or A/B in General English).
Â
Students will select UniReady as one of their six subjects in 2026. They will also need to enrol in a Certificate IV. Students who are not accepted in the UniReady program can still enrol in a Certificate IV. Queries regarding these qualifications should be directed to Mr Tuohy.
Year 12
The final term begins! We are checking in on the boys to help out with any questions about what comes next, and they are encouraged to organise an appointment if they need support. This term, we will be looking at budgeting and how the boys can manage their expenses after school, as well as scholarships. They will also hear from our graduates of 2024 about what life is like after school.
Â
Individual University Consults
Friday, 8 August
Â
Bookings will close this Thursday for individual university consultations. Students have been sent appointment confirmations. The appointment lists will also be up in Mrs Bulichâs office if students need to check. If they need to make changes to appointments they should see Mr Tuohy.
Â
Book a University Consultation Session
Â
Bookings will be on a first-in basis. If they miss out on a booking, please ask them to let me know and I will see what I can arrange.
