Beyond the Bell

School Holiday Adventures
Our students were certainly well-travelled over the semester break!
From exciting journeys through America and Canada to the peaceful countryside of England, local getaways to Queensland, Melbourne, Dubbo and Ballarat, or carving it up on the ski fields, our students made the most of their winter break!
And remember, this year’s Book Week theme is "Book an Adventure!" This might be a good opportunity to start thinking about some of your favourite ever holidays or adventures. It might just inspire the perfect outfit for the parade!
Giving Back to Wildlife
Over the Term 2 school holidays, the Hayward family (Mia, Lily and Will) generously gave their time to support local volunteer organisation Dutch Thunder Wildlife Shelter by preparing fruit for animals in care and rehabilitation.
Their efforts were particularly appreciated by some of the shelter’s smallest and furriest residents, including flying foxes, sugar gliders and possums.
We thank the Hayward family for sharing some wonderful photos of the animals in care and for setting such a great example of community spirit and compassion for our native wildlife.
Cedric and Coen Scoop Literary Awards
Congratulations to our talented young writers and brothers, Year 7 student Coen Pang and Year 10 student Cedric Pang, who were recognised at the Furphy Literary Awards ceremony in Shepparton on Sunday.
Cedric received a Commended award in the Youth Poetry category for his beautifully written piece titled "Cosmic Canvas". Meanwhile, Coen impressed the judges in the Junior section, earning Commended awards for not one, but two poems — "Hot and Cold" and "Dream".
An outstanding achievement boys — well done!
