Senior School Update

We've hit the ground running in the Senior School this term. New electives for Years 7–10 have been successfully integrated into student timetables, offering fresh opportunities for exploration and engagement.
In our first week, we celebrated student achievements at the Senior School Assembly. This week, our Year 10 students have been thoughtfully considering their future pathways through the VCE subject selection process.
Looking ahead, next week promises both excitement and planning: Monday will feature a hotly contested staff vs students football match, and on Wednesday evening, we’ll host an important information session for our current Year 9 students and families. This session will explore future opportunities, including VCE acceleration and the Project Ready program.

Senior School Assembly
Our first Senior School Assembly of Term 3 on 24 July was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate student achievements and reinforce the importance of personal responsibility as we head into the second half of the year.
A major highlight of the assembly was the presentation of several Shining Star Awards, recognising students who have demonstrated outstanding effort, progress or positive contributions in their classes.
Shining Star Recipients
Project Ready: Mac Elliott, Josh Edwards, Shawn Hong, Hana McManus
Science: Ben Curnick, Peter Everingham Cedric Pang
Foods: Peter Everingham
English: Nicky Voeun, Charlie Magill
Congratulations to our recipients!
There was also a special presentation to Peter and Josiah Everingham who were presented with certificates for their participation in the NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge last year. In Peter’s case, he received a special medal to mark 10 consecutive years of undertaking this challenge, an exceptional effort!
Mr Willett and Mr Thompson also took the opportunity to reinforce a few key messages about expectations and daily conduct. They reminded students of the importance of consistently showing up as the best version of themselves each and every day. This includes wearing the uniform correctly, arriving to homeroom and class on time, and behaving in a safe, responsible and respectful manner, especially when using social media platforms.
Year 12s Celebrate Just 50 days Left of School!
On 24 July, our Year 12 students came to school dressed as their younger selves to mark the exciting milestone of having just 50 days remaining in their school journey! Check out the awesome video below which shows how our Year 12 students have changed over the years!
At Senior School assembly, Abigail Brooker addressed the audience to explain the significance behind the outfits.
“We decided to take a step back and dress as our younger selves. The version of us that walked into Prep with oversized backpacks and big dreams, have grown into the amazing people we are today. From finger painting and spelling tests, to VCE exams, we’re excited to reflect on our schooling years.”
“These last 50 days are a chance for us to finish strong, but also to enjoy the little moments just like when we were younger.”
2025 Debutante Balls
While most students were relaxing during the last week of school holidays, a cohort of Year 11 students were being put through an intensive dance program in the lead up to our two Debutante Balls held on 18 & 19 July at the Finley RSC.
It was a truly incredible weekend of celebration and community connection as we proudly presented 16 of our students and their partners across two unforgettable evenings.
To our Debutantes and partners, congratulations on this special milestone. You all looked exceptional, and the poise, confidence and elegance you brought to the dance floor was a joy to witness.
A sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of these special evenings. To the team at Finley RSC, thank you for your warm hospitality and for providing such a fantastic venue. We’d especially like to acknowledge our staff members, Amy Duhring, Sue Charlton and Carolyn White, for their tireless planning and coordination in preparation for these events. Thank you also to Lauren White for the beautiful cake, Rhonda Doyle for capturing the occasion through her photography, and Jade Camden for her outstanding entertainment across both nights.
It was particularly special to welcome 2024 graduate Jett Robbins back to our school to oversee the intensive dance program. Jett managed this program with skill, energy and professionalism and his leadership as our dance coordinator was nothing short of outstanding and a real testament to his talent.
And finally, to our participating students and families, thank you for your support and collaboration throughout this process. Your involvement helped shape two nights of genuine celebration and community pride.
