Careers Update

Semester 1 has been a particularly busy and important time for students at Cobram Anglican Grammar School as they continue to explore their future pathways, make key decisions, and engage in meaningful learning experiences.
In the final week of Term 2, Year 10 students completed their Work Experience placements, gaining valuable insight into the world of work. Our students embraced this unique opportunity to explore different industries and develop real-world skills.
They’ve also taken part in VCE subject selection and course counselling, making considered choices about their Senior School journey based on their interests, strengths and future aspirations. Thank you to all the families who supported these conversations at home — your involvement plays a vital role in helping students feel confident in their decisions.
On Wednesday 6 August, our Year 9 students will attend an information session introducing Project Ready and our eligible fast-track subjects for 2026 and later in the year will participate in a career exploration day.
This term also marks the beginning of our Careers Education Program for Year 7 and 8 students. These sessions will encourage students to explore their strengths, interests, and goals while helping them understand how their learning at Cobram AGS connects to future opportunities in study and employment. It’s a great way to start developing career awareness from a young age and build confidence for the journey ahead.
Moving to the opposite end of the Senior School, our Year 12 students are working hard to finalise their post-school plans. Those intending on a university or TAFE pathway will soon be completing VTAC applications, submitting TAFE enrolments, applying for scholarships, all whilst coming to terms with the reality that their school journey is drawing to a close. It’s an exciting and sometimes emotional time, and we’re proud of the way our students are navigating these big decisions. As our dedicated Careers Coordinator, I'm here to support our students every step of the way as they prepare for life beyond Cobram AGS.
It’s been wonderful to see students across all year levels engaging with their futures in such a positive and proactive way. We look forward to continuing this momentum into the next term and beyond.
