Mathematics Learning – Addition to 20
In Mathematics, students have been developing strong skills in addition to 20, with a focus on bridging through 10. They have been exploring a range of hands-on and visual strategies to support their thinking and build confidence when solving number problems. It has been fantastic to see students engaging so positively with their learning, using materials to explain their thinking and demonstrating growing independence and confidence. Their persistence and enthusiasm for problem-solving have been a real highlight.
Miniboss Incursion – Game On Experience
As part of our Miniboss incursion, students in Grade 1 and 2 took part in the exciting Game On experience. Working in small groups, they collaborated to design and create their own arcade-style games.
The teamwork on display was outstanding, with students sharing ideas, listening carefully to one another, and problem-solving together to bring their creations to life. They produced imaginative and impressive games that exceeded expectations and showcased just how creative and capable they are.
The organisers were incredibly impressed and praised our students for demonstrating the school values throughout the experience, particularly their teamwork, active listening, and positive learning behaviours. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to shine in a different learning context and take pride in what they achieved together.
Open Morning
Our Open Morning provided families with a valuable insight into our daily Core Literacy program. The classroom was filled with energy as parents and carers joined their children in a range of engaging literacy activities.
Families participated in handwriting tasks, experiencing the importance of correct letter formation and writing neatly on the lines. It was lovely to see students proudly sharing their learning and guiding their families through familiar routines.
We also explored dictation, spelling activities, reading, and DRA-style reading games, highlighting the structured and consistent approach that supports students to grow as confident readers and writers.
