Principals' Message

Mrs Michelle Rassias and Mr Beau Robertson

Thank you to all of our families who joined us for our Open Day as part of Education Week. It was lovely to see so many parents and family members attend the various sessions throughout the day and celebrate the wonderful learning taking place across our school.

During the morning session, families were welcomed into classrooms to participate in learning activities and experience the beginning-of-day routines, giving them a valuable glimpse into what a typical school morning looks like for our students.

In the afternoon, classrooms and specialist areas came alive with engaging literacy, numeracy, STEM and specialist activities. Families enjoyed exploring the different learning spaces and participating alongside students in a range of hands-on experiences.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the scavenger hunt, which was a huge hit with students and families alike. Each teacher held a letter which, when collected together, revealed the phrase “Celebrating Excellence”, which is our school motto. Well done to Elsa, Biz, Sienna, Leila & Milla, Daniel, Nura, James, Jaylin, Sol, Gemma, Cameron & Liam, Charlotte, Grankie G and Letty for completing the whole challenge correctly.

Excellence was certainly on display throughout the day, particularly during the outstanding performances by our Junior Choir, Senior Choir and Marimba Band. What an amazing performance by all involved!

Thank you again to our staff, students and families for helping make the day such a success.

Pupil Free Days:

Curriculum Day -  Friday, 5 June

King's Birthday Holiday - Monday, 8 June

Just a reminder that students do not attend school on these days.

Student Mid Year Reports and Interviews

As part of our upcoming Curriculum Day, staff will be focusing on Assessment and Reporting. Throughout the day, teachers will be moderating student work samples, triangulating assessment data and collaborating to ensure consistent and accurate teacher judgements for Semester 1 reports. Staff will also be completing a range of reporting and planning responsibilities to support student learning and progress.

We will be providing student achievement reports for Semester 1 as usual, with reports being available on Compass on Friday, 19 June at 4.00pm.

The reports will continue to provide important information about your child’s learning achievement and progress. However, full descriptive comments will not be included due to industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union.

Parent-teacher interviews will be held on Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June, providing an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, celebrate successes and identify next steps for learning. More details about how to book will be shared shortly.

We value the strong partnership between home and school and remain committed to communicating openly about student learning.
