Athletics Carnival

Last Friday was the College Athletics carnival and I was so proud of how our year 12 students demonstrated outstanding spirit, and sportsmanship for their final Athletics Carnival. From enthusiastic participation in events, to cheering on their peers from the sidelines, they embraced the day with energy, pride and unity. It was fantastic to see all students dress up in their house colours or costumes and their positive attitude helped create a memorable atmosphere for everyone involved.

Late Arrivals

Arriving at school on time helps students begin the day in a calm and organised manner and ready to learn. It also shows responsibility, respect for teachers and classmates and helps students make the most of every learning opportunity. Consistent attendance and punctuality can improve confidence, achievement and overall wellbeing at school.

This term has seen a significant number of late arrivals from Year 12, particularly among students who drive to school. I understand that parking can be limited in some streets around the school; however, it is the students’ responsibility to arrive on time. Students who are consistently late will receive Tuesday afternoon detention, so please speak to your son or daughter about allowing extra time to arrive at school or to find parking.

Paul Dillon

On Tuesday, Year 12 students had the opportunity to listen to guest speaker Paul Dillon on the topic of drugs and alcohol. Paul has worked in the drug education field for almost 25 years and runs his own organisation, Drug and Alcohol Research and Training Australia. Students were very engaged and no doubt took away valuable information from his presentation.
