Biggest Morning Tea Bake Sale

On Friday 29 May the college held a bake sale in support of the Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea. A huge thank you must go to Sonia and Sarah in HOL (Hands on Learning) for all the effort that went into organising and coordinating this.
It was a sell out with all sweet treats being sold. Over the 3 days leading up to the sale, the HOL café students created nearly 500 items which sold out in a matter of 2 hours!
Thank you must also go to these students.
If you would like to still donate, please head to:

Do you have any school uniforms you no longer need?
Are they clean and in good condition?
If yes - we’d love them!
Brookside is running a preloved uniform popup shop each term. This term it will be held on 10th June at 3pm in the school foyer.
If you’re able to donate, please drop items off at reception any time prior to 5th June. Please make sure they are in good condition and clean.

2027 School Diary Design Competition – Student Leadership & Voice
We are excited to announce our 2027 School Diary Design Competition!
Next year’s diary theme will focus on Student Leadership and Voice, celebrating the important role every student plays in shaping our school community. We believe all students can be leaders through their actions, ideas, teamwork and positive contributions each day.
As part of this theme, students are invited to design the front cover of the 2027 school diary. We encourage students to think creatively about what leadership, belonging, teamwork, resilience and student voice look like in our school.
Designs may include:
Student leadership
School values
Positive friendships and teamwork
Learning and growth
Original Illustrations
Slogans
Bold colours and designs
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their creativity while helping create a diary that reflects the voice and culture of our school community.
Designs will close on Friday 19th of June. Should you wish to submit a design you can hand in a hard copy design to the office to be placed in my office or if you have done digital design you can email this through to
Liam.Ryan@education.vic.gov.au
Please direct any questions to either Mr Ryan or Ms Gunn.
We cannot wait to see all of your fantastic designs.
Year 8 and 9 Semester One Exams
At Brookside College, exams are conducted biannually in June and December for Year 8-9 students and annually for Year 7 students. We believe that exams provide students with the opportunity to practise skills that are vital for their later years of schooling. Throughout Term 2 and Term 4, students will be learning a range of exam taking and study skills to support them during the exam period.
Year 8-9 students will be sitting their Semester One exams during Week 10 of Term 2, starting with English on Tuesday 23 June and following up with Mathematics on Wednesday 24 June. Catch Up exams will be held on Thursday 25 June.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out directly to your child's English or Mathematics teacher. You can also reach out to Adam Taylor (7-9 Mathematics Learning Specialist) or Jade Rapley (7-9 English Learning Specialist).
