On Wednesday, 28th May, Pakenham Secondary College hosted a Regional Chess Tournament welcoming over 100 students from the following schools:

Luther College

Beaconhills College (both Pakenham and Berwick Campuses)

Pakenham Secondary College

Kambrya College

Emerald Secondary College

Lakeside College

Haileybury College

Lysterfield Lake College

Fountain Gate Secondary College

Berwick Primary School

Our small team of nine outstanding chess players performed incredibly! Pakenham Secondary College finished third overall, with only half a point separating 2nd and 3rd places. Hrishav Ghimire won the Year 7–8 Gold Medal (High Distinction) after an impressive 6 out of 7 wins — he also came second overall in the tournament. Sinsarut 'Q' Chitkanwong earned the Year 11–12 Silver Medal (Distinction) with 5 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. Four of our team members received Credits, each winning 4 out of 7 games. We’re proud to announce that four of our students have qualified for the State Finals with their impressive results!

PSCross Country Winners 2025

On 6th May, our whole school came together for an exciting day of fitness, fun and friendly competition at our annual Cross Country event. Students from all year levels showed amazing effort and determination as they tackled the course.

The event was a fantastic opportunity to promote teamwork, resilience and school spirit, with many students achieving personal bests and enjoying the great outdoors!

A big thank you to all students for giving their best and supporting each other.
