Messages to students during the school day – a change to how we do things
Dear parents/carers,
The office is receiving a significant number of calls during the school day requesting messages be passed onto students. To minimise the disruption to the office and to class learning time, we’ll be implementing a change to how messages will be communicated from next week as follows.
- The office will record your message and then,
- Make one announcement during lunch eating time (1:40 – 1:45pm) and then another at 3:15pm, requesting that those students come to the office for messages
The message will be given to students in person at either of these times as appropriate.
Picking up your children during the day
If you need to take your child/ren early on any day, please remember that the office is closed between 1:45 and 2:15pm (lunch time). Parents are not permitted to enter the school yard to look for their child/ren. The need to wait at the office until the office is attended.
Ideal times to collect children are during recess or lunch eating times (11am - 11:10am or 1:40 – 1:50pm) when it is much easier to find them. Students being collecting in the afternoon will be called up when we make the 3:15pm announcement (see above). No further calls or announcements will be made after this.
Monday assemblies are also not a convenient time to collect students early. Students are not in their classroom, and we cannot make announcements during the time students and staff are running the assembly.
