Director of Student Wellbeing

 Mr William Geeves

Welcome Back to Term 3

We would like to extend a warm welcome back to all of our students and families as we begin Term 3. We hope everyone had the opportunity to enjoy a restful and refreshing break, and we look forward to another busy and rewarding term ahead.

While school holidays provide a valuable opportunity to recharge, we also recognise that holiday periods can bring changes in family circumstances and that returning to school can sometimes be challenging for young people. If you believe your son may benefit from some additional support as he transitions back into the term, we encourage you to reach out to his Pastoral Care Teacher.

Your son's Pastoral Care Teacher is the first point of contact and will either be able to provide support directly or connect your family with the most appropriate member of our Wellbeing Team. We are committed to working in partnership with families to ensure every student feels supported, connected and ready to make a positive start to the term.

2027 Senior Student Leadership Applications Now Open

Applications are now open for students wishing to be considered for our Senior Student Leadership positions for 2027. These roles provide an outstanding opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills, build confidence, strengthen their communication and teamwork, and make a meaningful contribution to the life of the College.

Our student leaders play an important role in shaping the culture of the College. They serve as role models for their peers, lead College and House initiatives, represent the student body at official events, and work closely with staff to enhance the experience of all students. We strongly encourage any student with a passion for service, leadership and making a positive difference to apply.

Applications are open to students currently enrolled in the following year levels:

Year 11 students

  • College Captain
  • College Vice-Captain
  • Student Voice
  • House Prefect

Year 10 students

  • House Vice-Prefect

Year 9 students

  • House Spirit Leader
  • House Sport Leader
  • House Service Leader

Application forms can be collected from Student Services. Completed applications must be returned to Student Services by 3.15pm on Friday, 7 August.

Later this year, we will also open applications for our Year 9 Peer Support Leader program for 2027. This is another highly valued leadership opportunity and we encourage students who are passionate about supporting others and making a positive impact within our community to consider applying.

Qustodio Parent App Now Live

We are pleased to remind families that the Qustodio Parent App is now live and available for all St Virgil's College families. The Parent App provides valuable insights into your son's online activity on his College-managed device, helping you stay informed and supporting positive digital habits at home. Through the app, parents can view screen time, app usage and online activity, providing greater visibility and encouraging meaningful conversations around responsible technology use.

As part of the College's Qustodio licence, families are also able to register one personal device, such as a mobile phone or tablet, at no additional cost. This allows parents to extend the same monitoring and digital wellbeing features to one personal device used by their son. To get started, simply register using the same email address the College has on file for you. Once your account has been created, it will automatically link to your son's College account.

Register for the Qustodio Parent App:

If you were unable to attend our online Parent Information Session, or would like to revisit the information shared by Suzi Bamford from Linewize, a recording of the session is available below:

If you experience any difficulties registering or setting up your account, please contact the Qustodio Support Team directly using the support options available within the registration process or on the Qustodio website. The College's ICT Team does not have the same level of access to parent accounts and is therefore unable to assist with account registration or setup issues. For College-specific questions relating to the implementation of Qustodio, please contact the College.
