Consistency in small efforts builds results

As we begin a new term, it is worth remembering that successful student outcomes are rarely the result of one big moment. More often, they are built through the small, consistent habits practised each day: arriving on time, wearing the uniform with pride, being prepared for learning, completing homework, engaging respectfully in class, and asking for help when it is needed.

Term 3 is an important opportunity for students to reset, refocus and recommit to the routines that support their growth. For parents and carers, your encouragement at home makes a powerful difference. Simple conversations about goals, organisation, effort and attitude help reinforce the message that learning is a shared partnership between school and home.

We encourage every student to approach this term with purpose: set clear goals, be present, make good choices, and take responsibility for the things within your control. When students combine positive routines with consistent effort, they give themselves the best chance to experience success — not only academically, but also personally and socially.

As the saying reminds us, “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”

Term 3 provides a fresh chance to put those efforts into action.

Mary Rice Day & Teacher Freeze Launch

This Week during our Middle Years Assembly our Senior Leaders, Xavier Wright, Josh Topham and Luke Morrisby, launched our annual Mary Rice Day which will occur on Friday, 28 August. We will come together as a whole College on the day to generate awareness for others in our world. In doing so, we remember and reflect on the work of Mr Waddington whose dedication continues to make a difference for those at the Mary Rice Centre.

Our Teacher Freeze at the V which takes place in Week 10 on Friday, 2 October, will provide an opportunity to keep the fundraising momentum going throughout the term. We will continue to raise funds for the Mary Rice Centre through the dunking of teaching staff, something our young men are looking forward too.

During our Assembly, it was also great to highlight the significant contributions to Lifeline Tasmania by one of our Year 8 students, Hunter Jones. Hunter raised $545 specifically for Lifeline Tasmania by completing 3,307 push ups, which is an amazing effort! CEO, Liz Brown, presented Hunter with a certificate of appreciation. Great work, Hunter!!!
