Principal's Report

Term 3 Reflection
I am always proud to tell people that I am the Principal of an amazing school in Warrandyte called Andersons Creek Primary School. This Term more than ever though, I am so proud to see some of the behind the scenes work spend a little time in the spotlight through our 2026 NAPLAN Results, Attitudes to School Results and Four Year School Review Findings. This work is not often seen in our newsletters, facebook pages or talked about by the kids but it does show that beyond the celebratory events and activities we have an amazing team of staff that work incredibly hard to provide our students with high quality learning.
Did you know that in 2026:
In Yr 3 NAPLAN READING and WRITING we scored higher than state, network and similar schools with 95% of students in the strong and exceeding proficiency level.
In Yr 3 NAPLAN Numeracy we scored higher than state, network and similar schools with 90% of students in the strong and exceeding proficiency level.
In the Student Attitudes to School Survey, ACPS performed above state, network and similar schools on almost all of the 17 survey measures. A few standouts include 97% of students reported high expectations for success, 90% reported having an advocate at school, 90% reported a strong sense of inclusion and 86% reported positive endorsement for managing bullying.
Of course, primary school is about much more than academic results. We also want our students to love coming to school, feel a strong sense of connection and belonging, build friendships and develop resilience. We want them to grow into capable learners, but also confident, kind and curious young people who know they can make a positive contribution to their community.
As we come to the end of Term 3, I was looking back through the photos from the past ten weeks and was reminded of just how much happens in a school term. Athletics Carnival, Hoop Time, 100 Days of Prep and 100 Days Left of Grade 6, School Disco, 5/6 Marysville Camp, 3/4 Science Works excrusion, Book Week, Father’s Day Breakfast and Stall, Swimming Program, Books to Life and finally Footy Dress Up Day. And, of course, between all of those events, there has been an enormous amount of learning happening in classrooms every day.
No wonder the weeks feel like they fly by! Take a look at our Term in pictures.
In and out of our classrooms I can see our four ACPS pillars everywhere — Community, Character, Connection and Curiosity. They aren’t just four words we display around our school; they really do describe so much of what happens here. Thank you to our students for the enthusiasm they bring to school, our staff for the enormous amount of work that goes into creating these opportunities, and our families for continuing to support and contribute to our school.
See you in November :)
For me, the break will be a little longer this time. I will be taking Long Service Leave for the first four weeks of Term 4, with Sam, Ella and I heading off on a road trip up the East Coast. It is something we have wanted to do as a family for a long time, and I’m really looking forward to switching off for a while, spending some quality time together and having a great experience along the way.
While I am away, ACPS will be in very safe hands with Alysha Buzzini stepping into the Acting Principal role, supported by the terrific team we have her at ACPS. I know they will continue to keep everything running smoothly, and I look forward to hearing about everything that has been happening when I return.
Have a wonderful break, everyone, and I look forward to seeing you later in Term 4.
Kind Regards
Daniel Webber
Principal

It is with great excitement that we invite all parents, carers and friends to our social event of the year: a night at the Riverview Room at the Grand Hotel, Warrandyte.
Enjoy a night of great food, drinks, socialising and maybe a little boogie, all whilst supporting our amazing school community!
When: Friday, October 16th, 6.30pm til late
Where: The Riverview Room, upstairs at The Grand Hotel, Warrandyte
Tickets: $115 per person, which includes a substantial canape menu (no dinner required beforehand!) and a whole-night beverage package
Entertainment: DJ Beck will be live on the decks, plus there will be a silent auction and the fun of a live auction on the night
All proceeds from the event will go towards the internal refurbishment of our school library, in order to match the exterior which has recently been renovated courtesy of a government grant. On a side note, if you would like to donate items towards our auction (think gift certificates for silent auction, or larger valued items for our live auction if you're feeling very generous!), please reach out to Carly Lunt at acpsparentsfriends@gmail.com
It's time to put the date in your calendar, book your baby sitter and spread the word! Tickets can be purchased via TryBooking https://www.trybooking.com/DPBDK
Please be sure to flag any dietary requirements when booking 🙂
