Sun Protection Policy 

With the days becoming longer and temperatures starting to rise, we are reminding all students, staff and families about the Department's SunSmart policy as we move towards Term 4 and the warmer months ahead.

Protecting ourselves from harmful UV radiation is important, even on cooler or cloudy days. Throughout Terms 1 and 4, our school implements a range of sun protection measures to help keep everyone safe while enjoying outdoor learning and activities.

Students are encouraged to:

• Wear their school-approved broad-brimmed or SunSmart hat when outdoors.
• Apply SPF 30 (or higher) broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen before school and throughout the day as needed.
• Make use of shaded areas whenever possible.
• Wear clothing that provides suitable sun protection.
• Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated during warmer weather.

Please take a moment to check that your child has a suitable hat ready for the start of Term 4 and encourage them to develop positive sun-safe habits both at school and at home.

By working together, we can help reduce the risk of sun damage and ensure our students can enjoy outdoor activities safely throughout the warmer months.
