Library Refresh Project 2026-2027

Our library is the social and educational hub of LESC. It is well loved by past and present students.

In Term 3, students provided feedback on their vision for our Library. 

• Comfy spaces for reading, listening to audio books, boardgames, puzzles.
• Screening to create social hubs, bookshelves along the walls, a separate quiet area.
• A relaxing atmosphere with plants, new murals, art displays.
• More books in popular genres, with genre stickers.
• A book club, student volunteers to help manage library.
• A search KIOSK, suggestion box, displays with books of the week.
• A news hub.

Our students have spoken, and we are listening.

We have integrated AccessIT Library with DE school logins and Compass, to create individualised library news feeds, displays, catalogue searches and reservations. 

We are researching ebook and audio book subscriptions to provide students with 24x7 individual borrowing from home or school.

We have provided a searchable KIOSK for students.

In Term 4, more consultation will occur with staff and students on the vision for the layout, furniture and redecoration of the Library.
