Fairfield Clothing Exchange 27 October
Did you know that in Australia 6 tonnes of clothing are discarded every 10 minutes??
I am reaching out on behalf of Village Greening to share details of an upcoming community event that we think your school community might be interested in: the Fairfield Clothing Exchange.
Event Details:
- Date: Sunday, October 27th
- Time: 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
- Location: Fairfield Primary School Gym, Corner of Wingrove Street and Fairfield Road
- Hosted by: Village Greening in collaboration with The Clothing Exchange
This is a wonderful opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to refresh their wardrobes in a sustainable and affordable way. Participants can bring up to 8 items of clothing or accessories to swap, and all items are quality checked to ensure a fair exchange.
How it Works:
- Bring up to 6 garments or accessories to the event.
- For each item you bring, you’ll receive a button (your “currency” for the swap).
- The team will set up the items in a ‘shop’ layout.
- Once the event starts, use your buttons to ‘shop’ and pick new items!
- You can carry up to 3 items at a time while browsing.
- When you’ve made your final selection, hand in your buttons at checkout, and enjoy your new finds!
Thank you so much for your support!
Free places can be reserved here.

Become a foster carer with Anglicare Victoria
There is a strong need for more foster carers in our community who are able to provide nurturing and supportive homes for children not able to live safely in their own family homes due to protective and welfare concerns. There are a range of ways people can support children and young people as carers and Anglicare encourage anyone interested to get in touch. For more information see the Anglicare website.

Clifton Hill Tennis Club : Junior recruitment drive
Juniors can now play for free at Clifton Hill Tennis Club if they are committed to join a Saturday morning team for Autumn 2025 season.
Junior recruitment will take place from 1st September and close on 30th October 2024. Parents will be notified of the tryout dates to determine skill level for team selection. It would be preferrable if the junior is currently taking tennis lessons but not a prerequisite.
Players will need to be older than 10 and under 18 years of age.
The junior membership will remain activated for as long as the player continues to remain with the team and participate in competition play on a regular basis. Membership entitles juniors to free court hire, team registration or competition tennis balls.
This is an exclusive offer and will be available until teams are filled. Once teams are filled the offer will expire but the club will maintain a waiting list. Some on the waiting list who agree to commit to a team should a vacancy eventuate and play as an emergency player will be also given a free membership.
Free junior memberships are limited and priority will be given to players who live within 3-4 km of Mayors Park.
