Year 8 Camp
Summit Adventure Camp: Building confidence and connections
Year 8 students spent last week at the Summit Adventure camp. It provided students with an immersive outdoor experience that fostered personal growth, teamwork and resilience. The camp offered students a range of activities such as abseiling, caving and Victoria’s highest giant swing! These activities pushed students outside their comfort zone encouraging them to develop problem-solving skills, communication, and trust within their teams.
The highlight of the camp was the monster course! A giant obstacle course where students have to problem solve, swim under nets, crawl in mud and swim across a net! It was fantastic to see some of our own teachers get involved and run the course with their students.
And let’s not forget that our students who were voted as best on camp got to ride in a WW2 tank and crush a car!
Overall, the Year 8 Summit Adventure Camp was an unforgettable learning experience, balancing adventure with personal growth. The students left the camp with a renewed sense of confidence, stronger bonds with their peers, and valuable life skills that will continue to benefit them in the future.
