COMMUNITY CONNECTION

Bringing our School and Community Together

We’ve had a great start to the year.  It’s great to see all the new preps and their families settling in.  We would like to announce that all PFA fundraising efforts for this year will be going towards a new playground.  See below for details of our first event of the year!

New Members

The Parents and Friends Association (PFA) would love to see some new members this year — if you’ve ever thought about joining the PFA, or even just volunteering around the school; we’d be thrilled to have you on board!

You can be involved as much or as little as you like — there’s no pressure to do more than you’re comfortable with.

We hold monthly meetings on Tuesdays at 5:30pm in the school library. You’re welcome to bring your children along, join online from home, or stay involved even if you’re unable to attend meetings. Email pfa.wollert.ps@gmail.com for more information.

You choose what works for you — from the projects you support to the time you’re able to give.

Next PFA meeting is 10th March, 5:30pm

Not interested in planning but would like to volunteer?

That’s absolutely fine! There are plenty of ways to volunteer without attending meetings or being part of the planning side.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

  • Helping with canteen duty
  • Assisting on sports days or special school events
  • Helping at Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls
  • Supporting classroom activities such as reading
  • Helping with fundraising events or working bees

You can help once, occasionally, or whenever it suits you.

Join our email list, our Facebook group, or both to stay updated on volunteer opportunities!

  • Email: pfa.wollert.ps@gmail.com
  • Facebook: Wollert Primary School Community Volunteers

All volunteer opportunities will also be advertised on Compass.  You must have a current Working with Children’s Check to participate.

Things to note:

  • This event is for students only, parents/guardians must sign students in and out at the door.  Parents cannot stay on the school grounds during the event, this is for child safety reasons.
  • The day will be a Casual Dress Day with a gold coin donation to save time after school.  We ask that the kids still wear appropriate shoes.
  • Those attending Team Kids for the day can still participate, they will be signed in and out by one of the principals and returned to Team Kids after the event.

Second Hand Uniform Store

Do your children have uniforms they’ve outgrown over the holidays? We’d love for you to donate them! Please drop any clean, good-condition uniforms at the school office.

Stay tuned — we’re excited to share details about the opening of our new store, coming soon!

Warm wishes,

Parents and Friends Association
