Respectful Relationships: Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR)
RRRR Update – Topic 2: Personal and Cultural Strengths
As part of the Respectful Relationships curriculum supported by the Victorian Department of Education, students are currently exploring Topic 2: Personal and Cultural Strengths.
In these lessons, students learn about the strengths, interests and qualities that make them unique. They also explore how our backgrounds, cultures and experiences help shape who we are. Through discussion and classroom activities, students reflect on their own strengths and learn to appreciate and respect the strengths and differences of others.
Students will explore the wide range of differences that make us all unique, including discussions about families, culture, ethnicity, language and gender. We will touch on areas of difference that may bring out questions and curiosity from students, and will always address these in an appropriate way for their age. Students will reflect on our how differences are strengths and how to celebrate and respect all people as well as identifying the things that make people similar too.
Developing an understanding of personal and cultural strengths helps students build confidence, feel proud of who they are, and recognise the value that diversity brings to our school community. 🌏✨
