Honouring Excellence and the Class of 2025

At the Scholars’ Assembly earlier this term, we came together as a proud community of learning to honour and celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of our students in 2025. In particular, we acknowledged the students from our graduating Class of 2025 who attained exceptional ATAR results as members of the Year 12 cohort last year. It was a privilege to welcome many of them back to the Clayfield community as we recognised their dedication, perseverance and excellence.

Celebration of excellence at our Academic Assemblies plays a vital role in inspiring and motivating students across the College. By recognising effort and achievement, these occasions affirm the value of academic commitment while providing visible role models for our students to aspire towards. Hearing the journeys and successes of peers fosters a shared culture of high expectations, encouraging students at every stage to set goals, embrace challenges and take pride in their own learning.

The 2025 senior cohort exemplified a strong culture of academic aspiration and commitment to learning. Through personalised mentoring, strategic subject selection and a supportive learning environment, students were empowered to pursue pathways aligned with their strengths and future goals.

The vast majority of students were enrolled in ATAR‑eligible subjects, reflecting their tertiary aspirations and academic focus. A smaller number of students pursued non‑ATAR pathways, including vocational and tailored learning programs, ensuring that each student was supported to achieve success on a pathway best suited to their individual goals. This balanced approach reflects Clayfield College’s philosophy of valuing diverse definitions of success while maintaining high academic expectations.

The ATAR profile of the 2025 cohort demonstrates a strong cumulative pattern of achievement, with results distributed across high score bands.

The highest ATAR for the cohort was 99.80, with a median ATAR of 89. These results reflect strong academic outcomes.

43% of students achieved an ATAR of 90 or above, supporting a wide range of university and post‑school options. Significant representation in the 80 + and 70 + ranges of 57% and 74% respectively also highlights the academic strength of the cohort as a whole.

A substantial 70% of all results awarded were at an A or B standard, reflecting depth of learning and strong subject mastery across disciplines.

Strong individual student performances were also achieved:

Beyond individual academic accomplishments, the true strength of the Class of 2025 was reflected in the breadth of their passions and pursuits. Across academic and vocational pathways, students balanced high aspirations with deep engagement in the co‑curricular life of the College, including being involved in opportunities such as the SHINE Program, Mathematics Olympiads, sport, the arts, service and leadership. This purposeful balance of ambition and involvement has enriched the Clayfield community and established a lasting legacy of excellence, resilience and belonging.

The achievements of the Class of 2025 reflect not only individual dedication but also the collective strength of a learning community committed to high expectations and academic growth. As we celebrate these outstanding results, we congratulate each student on their achievements and wish them every success as they embark on the next stage of their journey beyond Clayfield College.

We also acknowledge every Clayfield College student who has demonstrated genuine commitment, quiet determination, and a steadfast work ethic in strengthening their academic performance. Whether this progress has been reflected through improvements in grades, enhanced results in one or more subjects, regular attendance at tutorials to consolidate understanding, or the achievement of personal academic goals, we recognise and commend these efforts and encourage students to maintain this dedication and perseverance.
