Term 4 is one of my favourite terms due to all the opportunities we have to acknowledge and celebrate the wonderful achievements of our students.

Year 12 students are always a focus in the first couple of weeks of Term 4 as the countdown begins to their last day of classes and the beginning of final exams.

For our VCE Unit 4 students, the holidays were ‘working’ holidays with students attending Knox Revision Lectures in the first week, and practice exams in the second week. In the first two weeks of this term students have been preparing for the upcoming exams with their teachers, and we wish them all the best during this important time.

Year 12 Primary School Day

Last Tuesday, we invited local Primary School Principals to this special day where we celebrated and acknowledged the formative years of our student's education, from prep to grade 6. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with primary teachers and educators and play some games that were reminiscent of the ‘old school days.’

Year 12 Celebration Day

Fri 23 October

Next Friday, we look forward to celebrating the official last day of school with our year 12s and their parents. We invite Year 12 parents and carers to join us for a special morning tea and the farewell assembly. Please rsvp HERE by Wed 21 October.

Having our parents be part of the day is a Wantirna College tradition. I’m sure we all remember our child’s very first day in prep and we want to give our parents the opportunity to ‘book end’ that memory with their very last day of school as a Year 12 student who is now an adult ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives.

College Captains

We are well underway in choosing our four College Captains for 2027. The rigorous selection process asks Year 11 applicants to detail why they want to be Captain, explain the leadership qualities they have and supply referees to endorse their application. Applicants will then interview for the position and if they are shortlisted, they will present a speech to the whole school giving our students and staff the opportunity to vote. We look forward to supporting our Year 11 applicants through this process and announcing to our community who our 2027 College Captains will be, in the coming weeks.
