Mount Gambier Generations in Jazz
On Friday 2 May, 29 young musicians and three staff members headed off to spend the weekend in Mount Gambier attending the Generations in Jazz Festival, along with about 5000 other students from around the country!
Our Intermediate Stage Band presented pieces in different jazz styles to the adjudicators and saw some top local and international jazz artists perform concerts and run workshops over the busy three days!
Thank you to Mr Ben Braithwaite, Mr Andrew McAdam and Ms Kim Starr for providing this opportunity to our students and giving up their weekend to attend. It is great to have our school attending this festival again after a brief hiatus these past few years, especially as Frankston High School was one of the first schools to attend when the event was a lot smaller many years ago. The passion for music cultivated by our whole Instrumental Music team was so evident in the students as they excitedly departed on Friday!
