Middle Primary Camp

Reflections

MPG

Our Middle Primary camp was AMAZING (even though it made us very tired!). One of our favourite activities was canoeing, especially trying to scoop up ping pong balls from the water—it was trickier than it looked! Flying over the lake on the flying fox was super fun too, and the view from the top was awesome. We loved building cubbies and testing if they were waterproof… although some of us found out the hard way that ours definitely were NOT when the teachers threw water on them—we got SO wet! Sitting by the fire after the night walk was relaxing, and the talent show was really exciting—we loved watching everyone show off their skills. Archery was something new for many of us, and it was fun trying to hit the targets (we were glad there were bows for both left- and right-handed people!). Cage soccer was another highlight—playing in a smaller space made it faster, trickier, and even more fun. The food was delicious—we even loved the vegetables!

We also really enjoyed having free time to hang out with our cabin groups, slide down the hill, and spend quiet time together at night. Low ropes was lots of fun because we had to work as a team, and waking up each morning to Mrs Campbell’s “Good morning song” was hilarious and a great way for the girls to start the day!

We absolutely cannot wait to go on camp again!

MPB

MPB thought camp week was incredible! Some highlights were the exhilarating flying fox, the mind blowingly amazing archery, unlocking the fantastic other side of the lake in canoeing and the substantial and delicious food. We voted the chocolate mousse, and chicken burgers were the best. And who could forget the ultimate panic of ‘almost’ getting lost on the night walk. The Talent Show on the last night was quite ‘something'! The only words we could come up with to describe it were entertaining, enthusiastic, dramatic and unique and we loved it! We thought the Adanac Leaders were amazingly entertaining, very cool, caring and prepared. We loved celebrating our successes like our new ‘Robin Hood’ MPB archery champions and conquering our fears of the flying fox and canoeing because we were supporting a peer and we had to do it to encourage them! Some of us really needed to push ourselves through some hard things. We bounced back from our challenges and we thrived!

Our overall view of Adanac Camp 2026 was that it was awesome, fantastic and crazily fun!

MPY

On the 13th to the 15th of May MECS Middle Primary went to camp at ADANAC. Everyone loved the flying fox, we were feeling like we could fly! We had lots of fun canoeing in the lake. Playing games that involved us collecting ping pong balls and not getting tagged by the tagger who was called the shark. Some faced our fears, thinking we may fall in the lake but we didn’t! The food was amazing, having meals like chocolate mousse, bolognaise with garlic bread and chicken tenders. The cabins were excellent and homey, being large, with squeaky bunk beds and double beds. We had to keep our rooms nice and tidy, but it was nice to have a space where we could hang out with our cabin roommates.

On the first night, we went on a night walk. It was really dark, but we had our torches so we could see where we were going. We finished our walk to the fire where Mr Gamble told a story about resilience and facing our fears and ‘going through difficult stuff with God’.

On Thursday night we did the ADANAC Extravaganza Talent show. We had lots of people do really cool acts like singing, dancing, funny jokes, acting, gymnastics and magic tricks.

On Friday we played Bombardment and Minute To Win It with the ADANAC staff, which involved lots of little activities with balls, hoops, cups, pens, chopsticks and dice.

Camp ADANAC was awesome and we had an amazing time! We recommend you going there!

MPR

We trembled with excitement as the bus doors opened—the countdown was finally over! We had arrived at Camp ADANAC 2026, and adventure was waiting for us.

Throughout camp, we discovered that we can be brave, bounce back when things feel tricky, and try hard things. There were so many exciting activities to take on, from the thrilling whoosh of the flying fox to canoeing across the water, aiming for the target in archery, and battling it out in bombardment. Every activity brought new challenges—and lots of proud moments.

One of the highlights was the MP Talent Show Extravaganza. The room was filled with laughter as we watched our friends perform hilarious, creative, and sometimes surprising acts. It was the perfect way to spend our final night together, celebrating all the fun we had shared.

And we definitely can’t forget the food—it was EPIC! Many of us tried new things, and with the support of our friends and teachers, we stepped outside our comfort zones and had a fantastic time.

Camp ADANAC was full of laughter, challenges, and unforgettable memories. We came home tired, proud, and already wishing we could do it all again.
