National Simultaneous Storytime

On Wednesday 27th May at 12pm schools and Kindergartens across Australia sat down to enjoy the wonders of a good book. This year's book written by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd and illustrated by Jake A Minton, was Luna Roo, a wonderful rhyming book telling the story of a kangaroo football team captain who, despite being young and a girl, lead her team to victory. Mrs Dempsey, who in Kinder has celebrity status, came to read this book to the Koala and Possum groups. 

The book ends with the following line:

"So, next time someone doubts you or you feel you don't belong,

Muster all your inner strength and prove that someone wrong."

We love to remind children (and also ourselves) that they are more capable than they often think and they CAN do hard things.
