🎶✨ MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA DAYS! ✨🎶

What an AMAZING two days of music, learning and fun we had on Thursday 3rd September and Friday 4th September! 🎵🎉     Our students had the opportunity to experience music in so many exciting ways throughout our Music Extravaganza. We were thrilled to welcome a range of outside music experts and specialist musicians, who shared their knowledge, skills and passion for their individual instruments. 🎻🎺🥁🎷🎸

Students were able to learn new techniques, explore different instruments and gain an insight into the skills and dedication involved in becoming a musician. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, enthusiasm and confidence grow as they learned from these talented music professionals! 🌟     Students also learned valuable ensemble skills when they participated in our mass item rehearsal, in preparation for our End of Year Music Showcase in October. Playing music as part of a large group gave students the opportunity to listen carefully to one another, keep a steady beat, follow musical direction and understand how each individual part contributes to creating something truly special together. 🎶👏    There was plenty of music, plenty of learning and, most importantly, plenty of smiles! 😊    A huge THANK YOU to our visiting music experts, our dedicated staff and, of course, our wonderful students for making these two days such a fantastic celebration of music. ❤️🎵     We can’t wait to see how our students continue to grow, learn and share their love of music! 🎶✨

Graphic Music Notation Performance

Students in Year 7I and 7J performed and created artworks for their Indigenous inspired musical soundscapes. Students developed performance and composition skills.

Year 7 Intro to Rock Bands Unit

Students in Year 7 were given a series of music performance taster sessions as an introduction to their next unit of learning.  ‘Rock Bands’ students develop understanding of chords and simple rhythms and use visuals to help embed understanding of new content.

VCE Band Rehearsals for Term 3 Music Performance Soiree and End of Year Concert

Students in this cohort were very busy rehearsing for the Term 3 VCE Music Soiree and End of Year Concert.  Leonard R. of Yr 12 (pictured playing saxophone) recently performed at the ‘Victorian Schools Spectacular’ Concert and was chosen as lead Alto Sax Player out of the whole state of Victoria!!
