Year 10 VET Applications
We have had a number of students and parents ask when they will find out if they have an offer for their chosen VET courses. Some institutes have started sending out offers, however most offers are not completed until mid to late Term 4. You may find that someone you know gets an offer and you don’t (or haven’t yet). This could be because of the timing of applications received or sent and training organisations will get back to us during Term 4, if you have not received a place at all. As applications will be randomly arriving between now and Term 4, students should get into the habit of regularly checking their school and personal emails and respond to any emails from training providers. Failure to respond or send in documentation in on time will forfeit your place to someone on a waitlist.
Box Hill Institute advises that they will start to distribute offers from the start of Term 4. All students who made an application, whether 1st or 2nd preference, need to monitor their school emails as Box Hill’s offer acceptance window is 7 days. They will send you an eForm for completion. If you do not complete this form within 7 days, they will move to the next student on their waitlist. Please see attached document from Box Hill Institute about the process.
If you do not get a place in any VET course, an appointment will be made for you to discuss further options. Parents will also be notified by phone to discuss.

NEW DIGITAL WORK EXPERIENCE AND STRUCTURED WORKPLACE LEARNING FORM
Work experience and structured workplace learning are an important part of our career education program at Lilydale Heights College. It helps students to explore potential jobs, understand workplace expectations and make informed education and career choices.
Our school has introduced a new digital work experience and structured workplace learning form to simplify the process and save you time. It replaces the paper form we’ve used previously. You and your child can fill out and sign the form online at your convenience from a mobile phone or computer.
Digital work experience forms will be securely stored and handled in compliance with records management policies and Victorian privacy laws.
Process for digital forms
- A digital form will be created when a work placement has been organised for your child.
- Once the placement details have been completed by the student, and if your child is under 18, parent/guardians will receive an email with a link to review and sign the form.
- A quick reference guide can be sent to students to explain the process.
- If your child is under 18, a copy of the completed form will be emailed to you for your records.

VTAC application voucher scheme
Monash has purchased a limited number of VTAC application fee vouchers for the 2027 start year intake. These voucher codes can be used to pay the VTAC application fee.
We still have vouchers available for students who intending to apply to Monash and are either Indigenous applicants, or experiencing financial hardship and unable to pay their VTAC application fee.

The course addresses the expanding scope of practice for modern pharmacists and aligns with the Pharmacy Board of Australia’s updated entry-to-practice capabilities. It is an Extended Master’s model (it's NOT a doctoral program) and ensures our graduates remain highly competitive both in Australia and globally. Furthermore, it still allows students to graduate within five years - the time it takes to register as a pharmacist in Australia - including undertaking paid supervised practice.

University of Melbourne Extension Program Applications are now open to current Year 11 students for the Extension Program, an opportunity for high-achieving students to study university-level subjects whilst completing Year 12. Successful participants earn both ATAR contribution and degree credit.

Deakin Uni Ready
Deakin has recently launched a new enabling program, Deakin Uni Ready. It’s a free, fully online pathway program for students who are interested in university but may not receive a direct offer, don’t have an ATAR, or don’t yet meet entry requirements. Students study part-time in six-week blocks, from anywhere, with support, building the academic skills and confidence needed for university, including writing, critical thinking and communication. On successful completion, students will meet Deakin’s entry requirements for selected undergraduate degrees across health, business, science and the arts, including:

An Early Entry Program application gives students the opportunity to secure their future early and take the next step towards their dream course. Synchotron Workshos - Sprimng School Holidays

New course 2027 - Media Production & Communication
We’re preparing to launch a new Bachelor of Media Production and Communication, which will include a nested Diploma of Media Production pathway option. This course has been designed with creatively minded students in mind, particularly those interested in content creation, digital storytelling, podcasting, screen production and emerging digital media careers. The nested diploma pathway will also provide an accessible entry point for students who prefer staged progression into a bachelor qualification.
Short Course - Free 6 week course in Interior Design and Decoration. Provides an introduction to the principles of interior design and decoration and a great starting point for students curious about the world of interiors or who are considering a career in the field. No VTAC Needed - Apply Direct for Certificate & Diploma-Level Courses
Angliss offers a simple and direct online application for all Certificate and Diploma-level courses. Students can get ahead by applying online in October/November for the February 2027 intake. VTAC applications are only required for entry into Higher Education courses. Applications haven’t opened yet, but School Career Practitioners can add students to our notification list, so they’ll be among the first to know when applications open. See the Careers Team in the Library for more information or to add yourself to the list.

New Program for Students Aged 17-18 Years Old - Career Starter Pathway Program
Are you 17 or 18 and interested in becoming a police officer? Get a head-start on a rewarding career, with clear steps, one-on-one support, and advice - all before you apply.
Successful police applicants begin paid training as a recruit at the Victoria Police Academy (after they’ve turned 18 years old). Applications for the Career Starter Pathway opened on 14 September and will run until 25 October 2026.
Victoria Police will be running special information sessions for students, parents, and guardians.

Access Monash Mentoring offers tailored support to Year 11 and 12 students through mentorship from current Monash students. Through engagement with near-peers from similar backgrounds, mentees gain authentic insights into university life while developing their own higher education competencies.
Access Monash MasterKey is a guided online course designed to equip Year 11 and 12 students with the essential skills and capabilities to support a smooth and confident transition to higher education. Through interactive, self-paced modules, students develop proven study strategies, insider tips for navigating university, and build on their existing strengths to thrive in VCE and into the future.
