City Experience

City Experience

Our Year 9 cohort of 2018 have been extremely busy in Term 3 with numerous highlights of their school year taking place throughout the term. The much anticipated City Experience was no exception and after several weeks of preparation in class, 28 students spent an entire week travelling in and out of the CBD using public transport to meet their teachers for a week filled with a variety of cross-curricular activities.

These activities included visits to the IMAX theatre, the Old Melbourne Gaol, the Melbourne Eureka Tower Observation Deck, the Shrine of Remembrance, the MCG and the Sport Museum, a guided and food tasting tour at the Queen Victoria Market, a boat ride along the Yarra River, a guided tour through Sea Life’s Melbourne Aquarium, and a choice between a 2 hour session at the Hard Rock indoor rock climbing centre or a visit at The National Gallery of Victoria. During the week students were also treated to a Chinese restaurant for a 7-course banquet and the All You Can Eat Pizza deal at Café Notturno on the famous Lygon Street in Carlton.

On behalf of the staff who accompanied the students throughout the week, we congratulate students on completing this epic week and we thank students for their persistence and their overall attitude…They received many praises from the various establishments we visited for their cooperation, their attention and the respect they showed towards their guides.

Well done!

“My favourite event we did was the Imax movie, bugs. It was absolutely incredible and terrifying“.  Charlie

“Highlight for the whole week is to have a look what it looks like in Eureka Skydeck and to have a look at some famous places but probably my best highlight is walking at the City“.  – Kyle

“Highlight of City Experience the aquarium, rock climbing, sports museum and MCG tour and Eureka Skydeck“.

Jaidyn

“My most enjoyed activities from the City Experience would be the Eureka Sky deck and Old Melbourne Gaol. I was able to survive ‘the Edge’ and the history of the Old Melbourne Gaol was intriguing“.
