Year 7 Visual Arts
Year 7 have investigated a range of Modern Artist and movements during their first taste of Visual Arts. Fauvism, Surrealism and Abstraction have challenged students' notion of what art can look like. After exploring the practice of an artist, students have created artworks that reflect similar styles. Students have used a variety of media and techniques to create many brilliant artworks.
Year 8 Visual Arts
Students have been exploring the inner and outer world. This involves students exploring compositions which involve the real world and the imagined. There have been many great ideas generated throughout the term. Students will also be required to write an artist's statement explaining to an audience the intention of their work. This will coincide with a digitally documented process of their ideas and construction of their artworks. Next term we will be exploring printmaking, photography, animation and artist studies.
Year 9 Visual Arts
Year 9 Visual Art students have developed their understanding of the Twelve Expressive Forms used in the Visual Arts course. Students decided on a concept for their practice and have created three artworks which reflect their selected concept. The studio has been busy with students creating sculptures, paintings, textile projects and wearable art.
Year 9 Artmaking
Students have completed their collaborative works which have emerged over the last 10 weeks. The works are ready for exhibition with in the T-Block area and should be available by early next term. Students are now developing their own artworks for a specific location reason. Next term students will be exploring the medium of printmaking to create artworks for specified areas within the College.
Year 10 Photography and Digital Media
Students have explored film production throughout the term. Working in groups students have developed a narrative, script and storyboard before embarking on filming. Students have created short films in a range of genres including, western, documentaries, comedy, horror and action. The Mise En Scene of specific movies has been explored and evaluated.
Year 10 Visual Arts
Students have been working toward their own body of work, developed through idea generation, investigation and experimentation. The artworks created are based on their own narrative and students have had the freedom to explore mediums and multimedia approaches of their own choosing.
Year 11 Visual Arts
Year 11 Visual Arts are undertaking the End of Preliminary examinations which will conclude the Year 11 Course for the students. This term students have been developing knowledge and skills in creating a Minor Body of Work which involves idea generation, problem solving, experimenting researching and developing ideas and techniques. In critical and historical studies students have been examining specific artist and developing techniques to interpret and respond to artworks.
Year 12 Visual Arts
Students have completed and submitted their HSC Body of Work and Visual Arts Process Diaries. The students have worked tirelessly to complete their artworks and the hard work has paid off with a range of well developed works. Students are now focusing their time on developing further knowledge of artists and honing their interpretive and analytical skills as they will soon embark on their final HSC examinations. A massive congratulations to all HSC Visual Arts students.
