Vocational Education and Training

Hospitality

Year 11 Hospitality students have been busy this term with functions. Students started the term learning about salads and appetisers, and as a part of their Assessment Program they catered for the Girls' STEM day. This included a high tea made up of sandwiches, scones, Nola rolls and mini quiches.

Year 11 Hospitality students also catered for the Nagle Education Alliance of Australia (NEAA) conference on site. They designed a grazing table for staff along with small meals for the student delegates at the meet and greet night.

Following their Trial HSC exams Year 12 Hospitality students participated in Mater Chef where they cooked in pairs and made a three course meal. Each dish was judged by Ms Keough, Mr Brooke, Mr Ryan and Mrs Fraser. All students did very well and impressed the judges. Congratulations to Ivy Winter and Chloe Wheeler who took out the annual competition.

Construction

Year 11 Construction classes are currently in the finishing stages of the Dog Kennel project. The students have worked hard over the last two terms to construct a kennel to a high quality. Currently the class is prepping for painting and fitting roof sheeting. Year 12 Construction have finished all their coursework and have been busy preparing for the HSC Exam.

Manufacturing and Engineering

Year 11 Manufacturing students have been hard at work finishing off their toolboxes and are beginning to prepare for work placements later this year. Year 12 Manufacturing students are still learning new skills and developing their confidence with new machinery and processes in the production of their Vice project. Lathe and Milling operations are used to produce a quality and useful product.
