Aitken College Woodlands Swimming
On Thursday 9 March, 12 students from Years 3 to 6 represented Aitken College at the Primary Woodlands Division Swimming Championships at Broadmeadows Leisure Centre.
Students competed in individual 50m swimming events including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, as well as freestyle relay events. Everyone involved had a great day, tried their best and should be very proud of themselves for their efforts and for representing our school.
Congratulations to Noah, Aaron and Therese for finishing in the top 2 of their events and progressing through to the Northern Metropolitan Region Championships on 30 March. We wish you the best of luck!

Cumberland Cross Country
The Aitken College Cumberland Cross Country was a great success! The Year 3 to 6 students had perfect weather to run the 2km course around College grounds. It was wonderful to see a high level of participation and that many students were able to benefit from the physical activity and the opportunity to challenge themselves. Cross Country running is an excellent way to promote fitness, endurance and mental toughness. Events like House Cross Country can help encourage a love of exercise and healthy living in young people.
Thank you to the staff, Dunhelen Sport and House captains, and VCAL VM students for their help. Congratulations to the following year level winners.

2023 Secondary House Cross-Country
The House Cross-Country Carnival is an exciting event that takes place annually on the grounds of Aitken College. This year, it was held on Wednesday 8 March on a 3.6km course. The aim of the House Cross-Country Carnival is to encourage physical activity and promote healthy competition among students as they represent their houses. Thank you to House captains, PE staff, and Secondary staff for their help on the day. Their efforts ensured the smooth running of the event and created a supportive and encouraging environment for all participants.
