Music Learning Area News!

Term 3 promises to be another busy term for Instrumental Music at Wheelers Hill. The Stage Band are preparing for their performance at the Victorian School Music Festival on Tuesday August 15th, and the Choir will be performing at Victoria Grange Retirement Village on Thursday September 7th.  Some of our instrumental students are involved in the school production band, and they attended the recent production camp. They are doing a great job of learning a huge amount of music for The Spongebob Musical! This is an event where Drama and Music really comes together, so I encourage you all to come along to one of the performances.  

Towards the end of Term 3 (September 4th – 7th), all instrumental students will be involved in the Instrumental Music exam week. I’ll provide more information on this in an upcoming newsletter, but an outline of what this will involve has been posted in the Instrumental Music team, which all Instrumental students can access.  

At the beginning of this term, we farewelled our Woodwind and Keyboard teacher Yael Zamir, and this week we have welcomed Harper Dawson into the role. Harper will also be involved with the Year 7 Concert Band.  

Term 3 fees for Instrumental Music lessons can now be paid on Compass, under Course Confirmation and Payments. Please ensure that payment is made by the end of Week 6 (Friday August 18th). If a payment plan is required, please contact the General Office.
