Celebrating Excellence: Our Students Shine at Monash Tech Career Launchpad!

Creating Futures Together

We are delighted to share some wonderful news about our 9MA0C students who participated in the Monash Tech Career Launchpad. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and outstanding conduct throughout the program have been commendable, making us all incredibly proud.

Right from the start, our students actively immersed themselves in the world of technology, displaying exceptional engagement and a passion for learning. Their thirst for knowledge was truly inspiring, not only for their peers but also for the professionals who worked with them.

What is more, our students demonstrated not only academic engagement and curiosity but also exceptional manners and respectful behaviour. Their interactions with peers and adults were filled with kindness and mutual respect, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for everyone involved.

The Monash Tech Career Launchpad provided an excellent platform for our students to reflect on their future and the broad range of opportunities that attending the university may open for them. Their ability to communicate effectively and work together showcased valuable interpersonal skills that will undoubtedly serve them well in their future careers.

We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the teachers and organisers of the Monash Tech Career Launchpad for creating such a valuable experience for our students. Your efforts in nurturing their potential have made a significant impact on their journey towards success.

Congratulations once again to our fantastic students! Your achievements, along with your exemplary conduct, have set a shining example for our entire school community. We look forward to witnessing your continued success as you embark on your future endeavours.

 Keep shining brightly!

Best regards, Nery Soto Teaching and Learning Leader (But more importantly, your Maths Teacher)

Some feedback from our students:

“I got a lot of insight from different people with different careers. At the Monash Tech Career Launchpad, we had four and a half minutes with each professional. We had the chance to ask them questions that gave us a better understanding of what we would need to do to follow the same paths as them, if it was getting a Masters in Engineering or a degree in Biology. All the professionals there had different jobs and were very easy to talk to. We were split into groups of 2 or 3 to do our rotations, so the questions and conversation were never-ending. Being in a group with my friends made the experience more fun because if I didn’t know what to say, they were there to back me up. After the meetings had been appointed, we got a lovely box with a small roll, fruit and a piece of cake. To conclude, I would say that the experience was a success as I was curious about what courses/classes to take to get into a certain field. Now I understand better that, no matter what I end up doing, if it doesn’t feel as though it fits me, I can always change my course and try something different.”

“I thought today’s activity would be boring, but I was wrong! This was very fun! And I learned a lot.”

“My experience at the Monash Tech Career Launchpad World Changers program was very helpful, and it was really great to listen and explore carer choices I never even thought about. I found all the information they were telling me interesting and could tell that they all love what they do. When I got there, I was very nervous because I didn’t know what to expect, but as the interviews went on, I became more comfortable and easier. We had five minutes with each of the professionals and I learnt so much about what they do and what it’s like in the little time we had. We interviewed in groups which made me feel a lot more comfortable, and I ended up speaking with fifteen people. Everyone there was really lovely, positive, and passionate about what they do. Overall, it was a positive and effective learning experience and has opened up more options for me to think about.”
