YEAR 8 RISE PROJECT – ‘SUPERPETS' 

This week, the Year 8 RISE Project class embarked on their next mission in partnership with Monash Tech School. Over the course of term 3, students will be working collaboratively on the ‘Superpets’ program, whereby they will be using design thinking process to develop solutions for animals with an injury or disease. They will be exploring and integrating a range of technologies to create a wearable, implant or bionic for their patient. Using their skills in materials technology, they will combine 3D printing, laser cutting, and LittleBits circuitry to create a working prototype of their solution. 

We were lucky enough to be joined by Judy from Monash Tech School earlier this week to kick start the program, as students engaged in a variety of empathy activities that disadvantaged their movement and vision. 

Judy returns next week to showcase the range of technologies students will be using to create their prototypes. We can’t wait!
