Creating Futures Together
On Wednesday 19th July, WHSC held a Senior School Career Expo and it was a SUCCESS! There were a number of exhibitors from Deakin University, University of Melbourne, Holmesglen, Box Hill Institute, Swinburne University, VACC, and the Boating Association of Victoria, who assisted students with their enquiries. We thank all the exhibitors for their time and dedication to assisting our students.
There was a ‘buzz’ in the air and it was great to see students engaged and excited to take part in this important school event. In fact, many of the tertiary representatives told us how impressed they were with the thoughtful questions being asked by students and the wonderful manners that they displayed…. well-done students, the College is proud of you😊
Year 12 students also attended presentations from both Deakin University and Holmesglen TAFE to learn about what to expect whilst studying at tertiary level. We would like to thank Lauren Abel from Deakin University and Olivia Pazdera from Holmesglen TAFE who took the time to present to our students.
An event such as this cannot get off the ground without a ‘team approach’ so I would like to thank Georgina Walton for the enormous support she provided me over the last few months, and her ‘can do attitude’ which contributed to the success of the Career Expo.
Thank you also goes out to Karyn Sinni for assisting with organising the refreshments for the tertiary representative and also to Jane Callaghan for assisting with setting up the Library for the tertiary presentations.
Finally, I would like to thank the Senior School Leadership Team (Felicity Graham- Prowse, David Teakle & Sharon Sharpe) for their support in ensuring that students attended the Expo on time and that efficient monitoring was available and also thank various teachers including Judy Anderson and Jeremy Woods for attending the expo in a show of your support. What a great afternoon it was😊
