and assist families through separation.

The Family Relationship Centre, Armidale office is presenting a number of programs in Armidale. Information on these programs is below.

All ARMIDALE courses will be held in the Family Relationship Centre: Armidale Office - 3/150 Rusden St, Armidale.

All of these programs are FREE of charge unless otherwise stated

Surviving Your Adolescents - Two sessions - FREE

Surviving Your Adolescents will provide parents with some useful skills for dealing with teenage behaviour.

Find out what is normal behaviour for a teenager;

how to manage risk-taking;

tips to maintain and improve your relationship with your teenager;

and the Four Cardinal Sins (what not to do)

and what to do with your teens.

HIPPY Australia

What is HIPPY?

The Home Interactive Program for Parents and Youngsters is a two-year, home based early childhood learning and parenting program that empowers parents and carers as their child's first teacher.

The Armidale Family Support Services manages this program and is enrolling 4 year old’s’ now.

HIPPY provides a free trained tutor, books and materials for hands-on learning. The child will need to be the right age: families usually start HIPPY in February of the year before their child starts school. Priority is given to families who have not completed HIPPY before and meet one of the following conditions:

·the family holds a Health Care Card;

·the HIPPY child is Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;

·the HIPPY child resides in out-of-home care;

·the family has no source of income or are receiving a form of government support payment as their primary source of income;

·single parent families;

·the HIPPY child lives with a carer (i.e. not a parent); or

·the main language spoken at home is not English.
